Terms of Service

Effective Date: September 22, 2025

Welcome to Virtual Look. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our mobile applications, Virtual Look and Parent Look (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. User Responsibilities

Your safety is a shared responsibility. For the Service to function as intended, you are solely responsible for:

  • Providing and maintaining accurate, up-to-date emergency contact information.
  • Ensuring your mobile device has sufficient battery power, mobile network coverage, and an active SMS plan.
  • Keeping your device's GPS/location services enabled and set to a high-accuracy mode.
  • Granting all necessary app permissions (e.g., Location, SMS, Microphone).
  • Correctly enabling the Accessibility Service for the volume button trigger feature.

2. Premium Features and Purchases

Certain features of the Service ("Premium Features") are available via one-time purchases through the Google Play Store. These purchases grant you access to Premium Features for a specified duration (e.g., 1 month, 3 months). All payments and transactions are managed securely by Google Play. We do not process or store your financial information.

3. Premium License and Device Lock

A premium purchase for Virtual Look grants you a non-transferable license to access Premium Features on a single, individual device.

The premium access is permanently locked to the specific device and application installation on which the purchase was made. Logging into your account on a different device will not grant that new device premium access. Account sharing is a violation of these Terms.

For security and fraud prevention, uninstalling the application will permanently sever the link between your premium purchase and the device. Reinstalling the app, even on the same device, will not automatically restore your premium access. To restore your purchase in such a case, you must contact our support team and provide proof of purchase (such as the Google Play order receipt).

Similarly, if you get a new phone and wish to transfer your access, you must contact our support team to prove ownership of the original purchase. We reserve the right to deny transfer requests if proof of purchase cannot be provided.

4. Family Pairing and Parent Look

The Service allows a Virtual Look user ("Child") to link their account to a Parent Look user ("Parent"). By using this feature, you agree to the following:

  • Child's Responsibility: You are solely responsible for whom you share your unique pairing code with. Only share this code with a trusted parent or legal guardian.
  • Parent's Responsibility: By pairing with a Child's account, you agree to use the information provided by the Service, including real-time location during an alert, ethically and lawfully. The Parent Look application and its use are also governed by these Terms.
  • Unpairing: A Parent may unpair from a Child's account at any time through the Parent Look app. This action will permanently and immediately sever the data-sharing link between the two accounts.

5. AI Scream & Keyword Detection

The "Scream & Keyword Detection" feature is a premium, AI-powered tool that uses on-device machine learning to listen for potential vocal distress. By enabling this feature, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

  • Nature of the Feature: This is an experimental and supplementary safety aid. All audio processing is performed entirely on your device and is not sent to our servers.
  • No Guarantee of Accuracy: This feature is not guaranteed to be 100% accurate. It is subject to the limitations of your device's microphone, background noise, and the complexities of human speech. It may result in false positives (triggering an alert on a non-emergency sound) or false negatives (failing to detect a real emergency).
  • Your Responsibility: You are responsible for granting microphone permission and understanding the limitations of this feature. You agree not to rely solely on this feature for your safety.
  • Limitation of Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any damages or personal injury resulting from the performance, or lack of performance, of this feature.

6. "Rescue Call" Feature

The Service includes a "Rescue Call" feature designed to simulate an incoming phone call to provide a pretext for leaving an uncomfortable or potentially unsafe situation. You agree to use this feature responsibly and at your own risk. The developer is not liable for any outcomes or consequences that may arise from your use of this feature.

7. Disclaimers and Nature of the Service

The Service is a supplementary safety aid and is not a substitute for contacting official emergency services (e.g., 112, 100, 911). The performance of the Service depends on third-party infrastructure (mobile networks, SMS, GPS) beyond our control. The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, and we do not guarantee that alerts will be delivered in a timely manner, or at all.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Virtual Look and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of life, personal injury, or profits, resulting from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.

9. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including a breach of these Terms (such as account sharing).

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Dehradun, Uttarakhand.
